ScanVault Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
ScanVault (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is published by AppHub Tech Inc. It is a QR code scanner that keeps a private history of the codes you scan. This policy explains what the app accesses and how your information is handled.
The short version
We do not collect, store, see, sell, or share any of your personal data. ScanVault has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything you scan stays on your device and — if you enable it — syncs only through your own private iCloud, which we cannot access.
What the app accesses, and why
- Camera — used solely to scan QR codes in real time. Camera frames are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us.
- Photos you capture — when you scan a code, the app can save a photo of it. These photos are stored on your device (and in your iCloud, if sync is on). They are never sent to us.
- Location (optional) — if you grant permission, the app tags a scan with the location where you made it, so you can find it on a map later. This location is stored with the scan on your device (and in your iCloud). It is never sent to us or anyone else.
- Web links — when a scanned code is a web address, the app checks it for obvious red flags entirely on your device — no network request is made. If you choose to open a link, it is handed to your browser, exactly like tapping any other link. We do not receive or log these requests.
- Saving to your device — actions such as joining a Wi-Fi network, adding a contact, or adding a calendar event use the system’s own screens and write only to your device. We never see this data.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, your scan history syncs across your devices using Apple’s CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted and controlled by you; we have no access to it. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Data we collect
None. ScanVault contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs, and we operate no servers that receive your data.
Data retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, fully under your control:
- Delete any scan from within the app.
- Delete everything by removing the app.
- Manage or remove the synced data via Settings → your name → iCloud on your device.
Children’s privacy
ScanVault does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
