Getting started

How do I scan a QR code?

Open the app to the Scan tab, allow camera access, and point your camera at a QR code. It’s recognized and saved to your History automatically.

The camera isn’t working.

Make sure camera access is allowed: Settings → ScanVault → Camera. On a device without a camera, ScanVault shows a text field instead so you can paste or type a code by hand.

Your history

Where do my scans go?

Every scan is saved on the History tab, grouped by type. Search the list (by title, note, tag, place, or content), and swipe a row to favorite, archive, or delete it. Starred scans also appear on the Favorites tab.

How do I find archived scans?

Use the filter menu (top of History) to switch between Active and Archived. In the Archived view, swipe a row to Unarchive it.

What can I do with a scanned code?

The detail screen offers an action that fits the code: open a link, join a Wi-Fi network, add a contact, or add a calendar event.

Can I export my history?

Yes. Tap Export at the top of History to save your whole history as a CSV file. You can also share an individual scan from its detail screen.

iCloud sync

How does sync work?

If your device is signed in to iCloud, ScanVault automatically syncs your history across your devices through your own private iCloud. There’s no account to create and no login.

My other device isn’t showing the same history.

Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account, iCloud is on, and you’re online. Syncing can take a few seconds — pull down on History to refresh immediately.

Is my synced data private?

Yes. It lives in your personal iCloud, which only you can access. We never see it.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — ScanVault is a universal app for iPhone and iPad.

Can I use dark mode?

Yes. Settings → Appearance lets you pick Light, Dark, or follow the system.

Does it cost anything?

No. ScanVault is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete any scan from History, or remove the app to erase everything on the device. To remove synced data, manage it in Settings → your name → iCloud.
